Legal
Privacy policy. Your information, handled properly.
We collect the least we need to answer your enquiry, we tell you exactly where it goes, and we never sell it. This page sets out how that works in practice.

Who we are
IT4SME Pty Ltd (IT4SME, we, us, our) designs, supplies, implements and manages GPU accelerated virtual desktops and Island Enterprise Browser deployments. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website at www.it4sme.com.au, including our enquiry form, our event registration forms and our booking calendar.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Privacy Principles made under it. If you have a question about anything in this policy, email us at sales@it4sme.com.au.
What we collect
We only ask for what we need to answer your enquiry and run our business. We do not sell personal information and we do not buy contact lists.
Information you give us
- Enquiry form. Your name, work email address, company name, your role, an optional phone number, the topic you selected, and the message you write.
- Event registrations. Your name, email address, whether you can attend, and any note you add.
- Discovery call bookings. The booking calendar on our contact page is a Microsoft Bookings page embedded in our site. The details you enter there, such as your name, email address and the time you choose, are collected by Microsoft on our behalf and delivered into our Microsoft 365 tenancy.
- Direct contact. Anything you send us by email or tell us on a call.
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard request data such as your IP address, the pages requested, the time of the request, and your browser and device type. This is used to keep the site running, to protect it from abuse, and to diagnose faults.
We do not ask for sensitive information such as health, financial or government identifier data through this website. Please do not include it in a form or an email to us.
How we use your information
We use the information you give us to:
- Respond to your enquiry and answer your questions.
- Prepare and deliver a proposal, an architecture recommendation, a proof of concept or a quote.
- Schedule and run a discovery call or a site visit.
- Manage your registration for an event we are running.
- Deliver, support and improve the services you have engaged us for.
- Meet our legal, tax, insurance and record keeping obligations.
If you have asked us for something, or you are an existing client, we may occasionally send you a relevant update about our services. Every such message includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can ask us to stop at any time by emailing sales@it4sme.com.au. We do not add website enquirers to a marketing list without a reasonable expectation that you want to hear from us.
Where your information is stored
Our Microsoft 365 tenancy stores mail and calendar data in Microsoft data centres in this region. Our website hosting and email delivery providers operate global networks, so some data, including server logs and messages in transit, may be processed on infrastructure located overseas.
Where information is handled outside the country, we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider protects it to a comparable standard.
How we protect it
Security is the work we do for a living, and we apply the same thinking to our own systems. This site is served over encrypted connections. Access to our mailboxes and business systems is restricted to the people who need it and protected by multi factor authentication. Our forms include validation and bot filtering so that automated submissions do not reach our inbox.
No system is completely secure. If we ever became aware of a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we would notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and event registration details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and to maintain a reasonable record of our dealings with you. Records connected to a contract, an invoice or a legal obligation are kept for the period the law requires, which is generally seven years. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or remove the details that identify you.
Your rights and choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you.
- Give you a copy of it.
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
- Stop sending you marketing messages.
Email sales@it4sme.com.au with your request and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, and there are limited situations where the law allows us to decline. If we decline, we will explain why.
Children
This website is aimed at businesses and the people who run their technology. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services and our systems change. The current version always lives on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on the page.

For any privacy question, request or complaint, contact us and we will look into it and respond in writing.
